Mechatronics Department Organizes Scientific Visit to the City Electricity Station

The Mechatronics Engineering Department at the College of Engineering and Information Technology organized a scientific visit for third-year students to Osayfira Electricity Station as part of their extracurricular scientific activities for the academic year 2023-2024.

Dr. Marwan Al-Asali, the head of the Department, indicates that the students are trained on electric generators with a capacity of up to 15 megawatts and work on connecting the theoretical aspects of electrical machines and control systems with practical applications.

Dr. Al-Asali also highlights the successful collaboration with the station management to accommodate students during the summer training, praising their interaction and warm welcome provided by the station staff.

Engineers and technicians provide detailed explanations of all the station's departments, including generator and transformer maintenance, as well as control devices.

The university extends its sincere gratitude to the engineers and technical staff for their dedicated and continuous efforts in restoring  service supply of the only Electricity Station in the city of Taiz.
