The Dean of Academic Affairs at the University, Dr. Abdulqawi Noman, an expert in quality and academic accreditation, took part in a workshop aimed at reviewing the documents of the Academic Accreditation Council and ensuring the quality of higher education. The workshop, held in the interim capital of Aden, was under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It was attended by rectors of government and private Universities, as well as representatives from various Universities.
The scientific workshop concluded on Thursday with the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, who emphasized the strong commitment of the higher leadership to activate the role of the Academic Accreditation Council and ensure its efficient functioning in regulating the establishment of new programs and specializations at Universities in accordance with the necessary conditions and requirements. He also expressed his willingness to provide support to ensure the success of the council's missions.
Prof. Dr Sawsan Ba khabira, Chairperson of the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, highlighted the workshop's significance in deepening the understanding of quality concepts and laying the groundwork for implementing the desired goals to enhance the standards and outcomes of higher education.
The workshop spanned two days and involved in-depth discussions on the documents of the Academic Accreditation Council. Several valuable proposals and recommendations were added to these documents, which will greatly contribute to their practical implementation.
