    The orientation events for new students for the upcoming academic year continued today with welcoming new students at the College of Medical Sciences, under the auspices of university president Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati.

    These orientation events mark the inauguration of the 2024-2025 academic year, with classes in each college beginning the day after the reception ceremony, following the approved schedules for each department.

    The event commenced with an introductory meeting with the college leadership, attended by Dr. Mansour Al-Kholidi, the Dean of the College, along with several department heads and their assistants. They welcomed the new students and wished them a fruitful and successful year.

    The college leadership emphasized the importance of the university phase in determining one's professional future, highlighting the significance of acquiring and enhancing personal and professional skills during university education, as this period is crucial for character development and gaining knowledge and skills.

    Dr. Samir Al-Asbahi, Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, spoke about the importance of quality in the university's operations. He provided an overview of university quality standards, including academic programs, specified courses, and lab facilities and equipment, which ensure the quality of inputs and meet students' needs, aiming to strengthen the university's outcomes and distinguish them in the job market.

    Dr. Ameen Al-Haidari, the Secretary-General, addressed the students in a training session on university life, painting a picture of the university phase for the newcomers. He highlighted the importance of participating in both curricular and extracurricular university activities, excelling individually, self-improvement, capacity building, and developing relationships at the group level.

    The relevant departments continued their guidance sessions for the students, introducing them to key aspects of the academic, financial, and student regulations to familiarize them with their rights and responsibilities.

    The orientation events, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, will conclude tomorrow, Tuesday, with the welcome event of new students at the College of Administrative Sciences and Humanities .
