University Hosts Open Day for Information Technology and Cybersecurity

    The Department of Networks and Cybersecurity, in coordination with the Aman Vision Team (a student team specializing in cybersecurity), organized an open day focused on Information Technology and Cybersecurity. The event, held under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, was attended by university leadership and numerous managers from banks, financial institutions, and private companies.

    The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity in protecting digital information and systems from increasing electronic threats, and to provide a platform for interested parties to explore the latest technologies and solutions in the fields of networks and cybersecurity.

    The program featured several scientific presentations, beginning with Dr. Sabri Al-Shaibani, Head of the Networks and Cybersecurity Department, who presented a paper titled "Cybersecurity: Issues and Trends." This was followed by Dr. Bashir Al-Tayyar, Head of the Information Technology Department, with his paper titled "Digital Forensics: Challenges and Solutions." Dr. Bilal Al-Saamie, Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department, concluded the session with a paper on the “opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence.”

    In addition, several university students from the departments of Networks and Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence participated in practical demonstrations in the field of cybersecurity. These contributions helped enhance cybersecurity awareness, supplemented by the distribution of printed materials containing guidelines for protecting electronic platforms and personal files.

    Attendees expressed their appreciation for the event, which enhanced their understanding of cyber threats and strategies to counter them. They emphasized the importance of continuing such activities to build a technically aware generation capable of protecting digital infrastructure in the future.

    This event is part of a series of activities organized by the Department of Networks and Cybersecurity to enhance collaboration with the private sector and develop the technical skills of students, in line with the university's vision to promote innovation and develop capabilities in modern technological fields.

    The event was attended by University President Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, Dean of Facult of Engineering Dr. Abdulraqeeb Ghalib, Managers of Tadhamon Bank, Yemen and Bahrain Shamil Bank, Qutibi Bank, Bin Ameen Exchange Company, and representatives of Saba Islamic Bank and Al-Takamul Company, along with several academic and administrative department heads and other interested parties.
