The Development and Quality Assurance Center launched a Quality Week at the university, under the auspices of Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, the university's president. This event coincides with Global Quality Day, which is observed annually on the second Thursday of November, as designated by the United Nations.
The opening ceremony took place in the university's main courtyard, where students showcased various segments to engage the campus community. Alongside the event, an awareness campaign was launched, featuring brochures that emphasized the role of quality in educational institutions. These materials outlined the responsibilities of students, administration, faculty, and leadership in promoting a culture of quality, underscoring the importance of a holistic, system-wide approach.
The launch event was attended by university leaders, including Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, President; Dr. Amin Al-Haidari, Secretary-General; Dr. Samir Al-Asbahi, Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center; Dr. Abdulraqeeb Ghaleb, Dean of the College of Engineering; Dr. Mansour Al-Kholidi, Dean of the College of Medical Sciences; Dr. Jamil Zaid, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences and Humanities; and other department heads.
As part of the campaign, videos highlighting the importance of quality were displayed in classrooms before each lecture throughout the week, aiming to further educate students about its significance.
Dr. Samir Al-Asbahi, Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of quality at both individual and institutional levels. He noted that Quality Week aligns with the university's strategic vision and leadership's ongoing efforts to integrate quality into all aspects of academic life. The theme for this year's event, "Together Towards Continuous Improvement," encapsulates the university’s dedication to enhancing its educational practices.
Dr. Al-Asbahi also highlighted the global importance of Global Quality Day, which celebrates the role of quality in driving institutional success and national development. Students expressed strong support for the initiative, acknowledging how the university’s commitment to quality positively impacts educational outcomes, rankings, and its reputation in the job market.
