Al-Janad University for Science and Technology concluded the Third Debate Championship with a final round. Organized by the Student Affairs Deanship in collaboration with the Yemen Debates Foundation and under the auspices of University President Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, the event marked the culmination of a week-long competition.
The championship’s final round featured two teams that emerged from an initial pool of 16, representing various academic departments and levels. The event, attended by university officials and debate experts, was filled with enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati praised the students' creativity and engagement, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in enhancing critical thinking, public speaking, and logical reasoning skills.
During the closing ceremony, awards were presented to the winning team, the runners-up, and the best individual speakers. The judging panel—comprising representatives from universities, civil society organizations, and the Yemen Debates Foundation—was also recognized for its contributions.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Wahbi, Dean of Student Affairs, commended the participants for their outstanding performance and highlighted the role of debates in promoting constructive dialogue and intellectual exchange within society.
The championship, which spanned a full week, included preliminary rounds, a three-day training program for participants, second-round qualifiers, semi-finals, and today’s grand finale.
Now a signature event at Al-Janad University, the Debate Championship continues to provide students with a dynamic platform to develop their skills, exchange ideas, and foster a culture of informed and engaged discourse.
