Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Al-Tawajud Trading and Import Foundation, hosted a specialized workshop titled "Construction Chemicals: Insulators, Sealants, and Additives." Held under the auspices of University President Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, the event forms part of the university’s efforts to strengthen the technical skills of students and engineering professionals.
The workshop drew strong participation from engineering students and practicing engineers, highlighting the growing importance of construction chemicals in enhancing professional skills and meeting modern industry demands.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Qadri, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, stressed the significance of construction chemicals in improving material performance, raising construction quality, and addressing technical and environmental challenges in modern engineering.
The program included presentations by Dr. Mohammed Saif Al-Rubaih from the Faculty of Engineering and Engineer Abduldaiem Al-Humaidi from Al-Tawajud Foundation, covering key topics such as waterproofing, insulation materials, construction paints, and concrete additives, with a focus on selecting appropriate materials for project-specific requirements.
Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of construction chemicals, their applications, the properties of various insulators, the fundamentals of construction paints, and the impact of additives on concrete. The workshop also emphasized the role of these materials in solving structural challenges and improving project quality.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion session and featured a small exhibition displaying samples of construction chemicals and visual training materials.
Notable attendees included University President Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, Secretary-General Dr. Ameen Al-Haidari, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Abdulraqib Ghaleb, and Director of Al-Janad Center for Engineering Research and Consultation Engineer Ammar Al-Ahdal, along with several academic leaders and representatives from Al-Tawajud Foundation.
