Under the auspices of the Dean of Faculty of Medical Sciences, Nursing Department at the university held a celebratory event this morning in honor of International Nurses Day. The gathering, which took place in the university courtyard, was attended by nursing students and aimed to recognize the vital humanitarian role nurses play in healthcare.
The event drew the presence of several deans, department heads, administrative managers, faculty members, and students. The atmosphere was filled with appreciation and gratitude for nursing professionals and their unwavering dedication to serving both the healthcare sector and the wider community.
One of the program’s highlights was a theatrical performance titled "Angels of Mercy", portraying the essential role nurses play in saving lives. In his address, Dr. Mansour Al-Kholidi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, emphasized the critical importance of the nursing profession. He noted that nurses form the frontline of healthcare delivery, and that celebrating this occasion reinforces the profound impact of their noble mission.
Attendees expressed their pride in and appreciation for the nursing profession, stressing the need to empower nursing staff both academically and practically to ensure their continued excellence and compassionate service.
The event also featured student-led presentations and a cultural segment that highlighted the history and evolution of nursing. Informational booths were set up to raise awareness about the diverse roles and significance of the profession.
