As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance clinical and cosmetic dentistry skills among future practitioners, the Internship Program at the Department of dentistry at the University organized an intensive training course on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, titled “Laser Teeth Whitening Using Diode Laser.” The course, led by Associate Professor and Prosthodontics Consultant Dr. Sadeq Al-Tayyar, featured both theoretical and practical components.

Students received in-depth instruction on the principles and techniques of laser whitening, including the distinction between internal and external bleaching, the mechanism of laser function, the effectiveness of whitening agents, and key precautions during the procedure. The hands-on session included two clinical cases of internal discoloration treated with laser under Dr. Al-Tayyar’s direct supervision, with excellent results. Internship students also participated in a practical workshop, applying the procedure themselves under close guidance. The training is part of the program’s broader strategy to equip students with advanced skills in aesthetic dentistry and expose them to the latest technologies in the field.
