Al-Janad University Marks International Translation Day with Special Celebration

Al-Janad University for Science and Technology celebrated International Translation Day with a special event organized by Department of English Language and Translation at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Humanities . The celebration, held under the auspices of University President Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, carried the theme: “Translation: Bringing World through Words.”

Opening the event, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Gamil Zaid, highlighted the vital role of translation as a bridge between cultures and a cornerstone for knowledge exchange and global engagement. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of faculty members and students who contributed to the success of the program.

The program featured a variety of activities led by students from the English and Translation Department, including language competitions and educational presentations that underscored the richness of world languages and the importance of cultural identity. An accompanying exhibition showcased linguistic diversity and the role of translation in fostering mutual understanding among peoples.

The celebration concluded with the recognition of outstanding faculty members, as well as students who distinguished themselves through their participation in the event.

The ceremony was attended by University Secretary-General Dr. Ameen Al-Haidari, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Humanities Dr. Gamil Zaid, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Dr. Abdulraqib Ghalib, Head of the English Language and Translation Department Dr. Abdulwahid Noman, along with faculty members and students.
