The Faculty of Medical Sciences organized a four-day Emergency Medicine Training Course, aimed at equipping medical students with essential skills to respond effectively to critical health situations.

The program, inaugurated under the auspices of University President Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, brings together participants from both within and outside the university. It is part of the faculty’s broader initiative to strengthen students’ practical competencies and readiness for real-world healthcare challenges.

Dr. Mohammed Abdu, an emergency medicine specialist and the lead instructor, said the course focuses on enhancing participants’ ability to assess medical emergencies and make swift, informed decisions in life-threatening scenarios. He added that the training also raises awareness about the risks of incorrect first aid practices and provides hands-on sessions in rescue techniques and primary response methods.

The course combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises and field demonstrations, offering students realistic exposure to emergency care situations. According to organizers, the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to promoting medical excellence and professional preparedness among future healthcare providers.
