    The Department of Therapeutic Nutrition at the Faculty of Medical Sciences organized an awareness event on the occasion of World Food Day, with the aim of promoting health awareness and highlighting the importance of proper nutrition in disease prevention and improving quality of life.

    The event featured a variety of educational and awareness booths prepared by students under academic supervision. These included sections on Breast Cancer Awareness (in coordination with the ongoing campaign led by Al-Amal Cancer Treatment Center), Drug–Food Interactions, Nutrition Myths and Facts, Prophetic Nutrition, Popular Diets, Digestive Health, Beauty and Care, Nutrition Activities and Competitions, Nutritional Assessment, and Healthy Hospitality.

    According to the organizers, the event aimed to promote healthy eating behaviors within the university community, correct misconceptions about nutrition, and raise awareness about the importance of following balanced dietary habits to prevent chronic diseases.

    The initiative comes as part of the Faculty of Medical Sciences’ ongoing community engagement efforts, designed to link academic learning with practical application. The Dean praised the efforts of the Department of Therapeutic Nutrition for its active role in spreading health awareness among students and the broader community.
