The Dentistry Internship Program organized a specialized training course titled “Dental Emergency Protocol” under the supervision of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, as part of a series of academic and professional development activities. The event aimed at enhancing clinical skills and improving the competence of program graduates.

The session, led by Dr. Adel Al-Adimi, focused on the importance of rapid medical response in dental clinics, emphasizing that effective handling of emergency cases is a key component of professional safety standards and quality patient care.

The training covered both theoretical and practical aspects, including the identification of medical emergencies in dental settings, preparedness and prevention strategies, initial patient assessment methods, and management of the most common emergency situations.

Participants were also trained on how to use the medical emergency kit (Crash Cart) and were introduced to the essential drugs that must be available in dental clinics, such as oxygen, epinephrine, nitroglycerin, and antihistamines.

They noted that such training enhances the readiness of dental interns to handle critical cases efficiently and reinforces the principles of medical safety and quality healthcare delivery.
