The Faculty of Medical Sciences launched a Scientific Week yesterday under the auspices of Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, the University President. The event marks a significant academic initiative aimed at enriching scientific knowledge and advancing students’ professional and research competencies in the medical and health sciences fields.
The opening day featured a specialized training course titled “Malnutrition in Children”, delivered by Dr. Majda Al-Zuraigi, which addressed the fundamental concepts of malnutrition, its various types and causes, and its physical and cognitive effects on child development. The session also explored recent diagnostic methods, alongside modern preventive and therapeutic strategies for combating childhood malnutrition.
The Scientific Week forms part of the faculty’s strategic plan to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and clinical application through intensive training programs, practical workshops, and academic discussions designed to enhance both knowledge and practice.
Throughout the week, a series of specialized scientific courses and workshops will be held, led by a distinguished group of academics, practitioners, and researchers in the medical and health sectors.
The event targets students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, as well as participants from other universities, with the goal of promoting academic collaboration, encouraging scientific exchange, and strengthening students’ research and practical skills across various health disciplines.
