As part of its ongoing Scientific Week activities, and under the auspices of Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, the University President, the Faculty of Medical Sciences organized a specialized training session titled “Hepatitis Viruses”, delivered by Dr. Khairallah Abdulkarim Al-Ghazali, with the participation of students from the faculty and other universities.

The session covered key scientific and awareness-based aspects related to hepatitis viruses, focusing on six main types (A, B, C, D, E, and G). It explained the differences among them in terms of viral families, genetic structures, and outer envelopes, in addition to outlining modes of transmission and the major factors contributing to the spread of infection within individuals and communities.

Dr. Al-Ghazali also highlighted preventive measures, emphasizing health precautions, vaccination, early diagnosis, and the role of public awareness in reducing transmission. He stressed the importance of strengthening health literacy among medical students, describing them as the first line of defense in protecting community health.

This session is part of a series of scientific and training activities included in the Scientific Week program, designed to enhance the academic and professional competencies of medical students and connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications in healthcare fields.
