Al-Janad University Welcomes Renowned Egyptian Academic to Lead Theorepotic Nutrition Department

Al-Janad University for Science and Technology hosted a reception this morning to welcome Prof. Dr. Nihal Mohamed Abdel-Maguid from the Arab Republic of Egypt, who has joined the faculty as the new Head of the Theorepotic Nutrition Department.

During the event, Eng. Walid Al-Jaour, Director of Human Resources, formally welcomed Professor Abdel-Maguid, describing her appointment as a significant qualitative addition to the university's academic staff. He emphasized that over the past few years, Al-Janad University has prioritized recruiting and retaining specialized academic talent. This strategy reflects the university's vision to maximize human capital, enhance the quality of teaching and learning, and prepare qualified graduates capable of meeting the demands of both the Yemeni and regional labor markets.

Prof. Dr. Abdulqawi Noman, Dean of Academic Affairs, stated that the Professor’s arrival brings substantial scientific value to the institution. He highlighted her distinguished academic and research portfolio, her extensive expertise in clinical nutrition, and the pioneering scientific achievements she has realized throughout her career at various Egyptian and Arab universities.

Dr. Mansour Al-Khulaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, expressed his delight at Professor Abdel-Maguid assuming leadership of the Theorepotic Nutrition Department. He noted that this department is a pivotal program within the faculty and receives special attention from university leadership. Dr. Al-Khulaidi announced that a permanent nutritional consulting clinic will be opened under her supervision to serve the local community. This initiative aims to strengthen the university’s community service role and contribute to fulfilling the accreditation requirements for the Master’s program in Theorepotic Nutrition.

Professor Abdel-Maguid represents a major asset to the university. Formerly a Professor of Theorepotic Nutrition at Helwan University, she has authored numerous books and peer-reviewed scientific papers. She has also supervised dozens of postgraduate theses and participated in numerous scientific conferences both in Egypt and internationally.

This appointment underscores Al-Janad University's ongoing commitment to developing the educational process, attracting outstanding academic talent, and fostering institutional excellence. Despite the exceptional circumstances and challenges facing the country, the move reaffirms the university's dedication to its scientific mission and its role in national development.
