The National Committee for the Ranking of Yemeni Universities has launched its field visits in Taiz Governorate, beginning with a visit to Al-Janad University for Science and Technology, as part of a nationwide academic ranking process. The visits aim to verify the accuracy of data submitted by universities and assess its alignment with on-site realities in accordance with officially approved national ranking procedures.
The committee is chaired by Prof. Abdulrahman Sabri and includes several members of the executive committee. Its evaluation framework is based on key indicators derived from the global Webometrics ranking, including the quality of education, scientific research, internationalization, graduate outcomes, and community engagement, contributing to a scientific and objective assessment of institutional performance.
The visit also sought to measure the level of satisfaction among students, employers, and academic experts through specialized questionnaires. This approach reflects the extent to which higher education outcomes align with labor market demands and community needs, while supporting efforts to enhance the quality of academic programs and university services.
University President Dr. Mohyeddine Al-Qabati welcomed the committee members, expressing his pleasure at the university’s participation in the new ranking process for the first time. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to developing its academic and administrative performance and strengthening its competitiveness among local and regional universities.
The university’s Secretary-General and deans took part in receiving the delegation and accompanied the committee on a tour of the university’s facilities, including laboratories, the central library, and various service centers, notably the Al-Janad Training Center, the Al-Janad Engineering Center, and student housing facilities.
The visit coincided with similar field assessments conducted by the Yemeni University Ranking Committee at several universities in other governorates.
