As part of its strategic plan, Al-Janad University for Science and Technology has set the deadline for submitting self-study reports for three academic programs undergoing the academic accreditation process.
University President Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qabati received Prof. Abdulraqib Al-Samawi, representative of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education, as part of the council’s ongoing field follow-up of the university’s programs submitted for accreditation.
The meeting reviewed the achievement matrix for the selected programs and finalized the timeline for submitting the self-study reports, paving the way for the council to form specialized committees to conduct field visits and verification prior to granting final accreditation.
The Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Abdulqawi Noman, emphasized that self-evaluation serves as a strategic tool for institutional improvement, enabling the university to strengthen areas of excellence and address gaps in performance in order to ensure the quality of educational outcomes and advance its academic vision.
He further stressed the significance of this step, noting that Al-Janad University is the only private university in Taiz Governorate and one of only five public and private universities in the areas under the control of internationally recognized government to have initiated this specialized accreditation pathway. The first phase includes three programs from the Colleges of Medical Sciences, Engineering and Information Technology, and Administrative Sciences and Humanities .
This progress reflects the university’s commitment to a culture of quality and continuous improvement, as well as its determination to consolidate its position as a leading educational institution that meets labor market needs and adheres to national standards for academic quality and higher education accreditation.
The meeting was attended by the college deans, the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, and the Vice Dean of Post-graduate Studies.
