The second round of the Seventh Scientific Curriculum Competition for the 2025–2026 academic year was launched in Taiz on Tuesday, under the patronage of Governor Nabil Shamsan and with the support of Al-Janad University for Science and Technology. The event was inaugurated by Abdulwasea Shaddad, Director of the Taiz Education Office, and organized by the School Activities Department in coordination with the Educational Guidance Department.
Speaking on behalf of the university, the Dean of Student Affairs welcomed participants and guests, describing the competition as a distinguished academic and educational milestone that brings together hundreds of male and female students from public and private secondary schools across the governorate. He emphasized that the event reflects a spirit of excellence and fair competition, reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting high-quality scientific initiatives and nurturing young talent as a cornerstone of Taiz’s and Yemen’s future.
For his part, the Director of the Education Office conveyed the governor’s greetings and reiterated his continued support for educational programs and activities aimed at advancing the learning process and raising academic standards. He noted that the competition serves as an important platform for promoting positive competition, strengthening students’ comprehension skills, and encouraging academic diligence.
Shaddad also praised Al-Janad University for its active support of educational events and its broader role in fostering community partnerships aimed at stabilizing and improving the education sector in the province.
The competition was held in a highly competitive atmosphere. Khadija School – Cairo secured first place, followed by Al-Rashad Private School in second, Al-Ta’aluq – Al-Shamayateen in third, and 14 October – Al-Ma’afer in fourth. Omar Ahmed Saif School placed fifth, Hael Educational Complex – Musharrah and Hadnan sixth, Al-Noor – Samea seventh, Al-Noor – Sabr Al-Mawadem eighth, and Tariq Bin Ziyad ninth. The top four schools advanced to the final round of the competition.
