Al-Janad University Concludes Student Chess Championship and Honours Winners

The Student Activities Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Janad University for Science and Technology concluded the 2026 Student Chess Championship, held under the auspices of University President Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, following strong student participation and five rounds of competition.

In the boystudents’ category, student Saad Muath secured first place, followed by Ezzaldeen Fathi Mohammed Saeed in second place, while Tamim Abdulrahman Abdulqawi Al-Humaidi finished third.

In the girl students’ category, student Abeer Radwan Mohammed Al-Huraibi claimed first place, followed by Rawan Nawfal Mahyoub Hassan in second place, while Dalal Abdulaziz Ahmed Rassam came third.

The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Al-Wahabi, Dean of Student Affairs; Captain Mohammed Al-Athwari, Head of the Taiz Branch of the Chess Federation; and Murad Alaya, Student Activities Coordinator. The event concluded with the recognition of the winning students and praise for the high level of performance demonstrated throughout the tournament.
