Al-Janad Reinforces Leadership in Applied Engineering Training for a Second Consecutive Year

As part of its commitment to community engagement and strengthening partnerships with educational institutions, Al-Janad University for Science and Technology is hosting students from the Industrial Technical Institute for the second consecutive year to participate in a comprehensive three-day practical training programme conducted in the university’s engineering laboratories and specialized facilities.

The trainees received intensive hands-on instruction in the Roads and Asphalt Laboratory, where they carried out a wide range of standard engineering tests in highway engineering and pavement materials, including the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test, the Standard Proctor Compaction Test, the Theoretical Maximum Specific Gravity (Gmm) test for asphalt mixtures, the Asphalt Extraction Test, the Softening Point Test, the Penetration Test, the Marshall Stability Test, the Abrasion Test, Asphalt Mix Design, and the Aggregate Impact Test, providing them with practical experience in modern engineering testing procedures.

The programme also extended beyond laboratory training to include field-based learning, with students accompanying engineers from the Al-Janad Center for Engineering Research and Consultancy on site visits to observe engineering practices and project implementation firsthand, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and professional application.

Al-Janad University reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with educational and professional institutions, emphasizing that investing in people is the cornerstone of sustainable development and that practical training remains essential to preparing engineers and technicians equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to excel in their professions.
