Al-Janad University for Science and Technology participated in the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Presidents of Public and Private Yemeni Universities 2026, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in partnership with Al-Awn Foundation for Development in the interim capital, Aden, under the theme "Effective Partnership for Achieving Comprehensive Quality."
Representing the University, Prof. Abdulqawi Noman, Dean of Academic Affairs, presented a research paper entitled "Building an Integrated National Framework to Align Higher Education with Development and Labor Market Needs in Yemen."
The paper highlighted the importance of the National Qualifications Framework, the National Skills Observatory, and development indicators as key pillars for strengthening academic accreditation, improving the quality of academic programs, and aligning higher education outcomes with labor market demands.
The two-day meeting brought together senior officials from the Ministry, presidents of public and private universities, and higher education experts to discuss a range of strategic issues, including quality assurance, academic accreditation, digital transformation, and higher education policy development.
The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at advancing Yemen's higher education system, strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and universities, and developing a national higher education strategy to enhance academic quality and better respond to the country's development priorities and labor market needs.
